Did Uncle Sam hit the wallet hard this year? What if we told you there is a way to be more comfortable, qualify for tax and provider rebates, and lower your energy bills all at the same time! Get a new system and help pay for it with energy efficiency rebates from the government and your energy provider! We are tired of seeing Indianapolis residence missing out on these rebates and paying too much a month on their energy bills. Below we have outlined the three most common rebates and what you need to qualify for them. These rebates combine those offered by Vectren and the federal government through Energy Star. Visit their sites or give us a call  for more details on what rebates you might qualify for.

1. Vectren Electric Service Rebate – Central Air Conditioning Units $300-$500

Depending on how efficient your new system is you could qualify for up to a $500 rebate from Vectren. If your system is rated above 16 SEER than you receive a $300 rebate. If your system breaks the 18 SEER mark you get a $500 rebate. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. Think of it like MPG for a car, the higher the SEER rating the more cooling a system puts out per unit of energy. Go here to see which Bryant air conditions qualify for the rebate.

2. Federal Geothermal Heat Pump Tax Credit – 30% of the total cost no cap

Installing a geothermal heat pump is the most energy efficient way to heat your home. Because the system uses heat from underground to heat your home, the federal government will give you a 30% tax credit to help cover the cost. On top of that, the energy savings are humungous. Go here to see the Bryant Geothermal Heat pumps we suggest.

3. Vectren Electric and/or Natural Gas Rebate – Programmable Thermostats $20 – $100

This rebate is one of the easiest and most overlooked rebates. Vectren will give you a $20 rebate for installing a programmable thermostat and $100 if that thermostat is Wi-Fi enabled. These thermostats add convenience while paying for themselves after the energy savings and rebates are added up. Go here to see more benefits to adding a programmable thermostat.
